Benjamin Rush State Park is a 275-acre state park in Northeast Philadelphia. The park offers hiking & biking paths, a community garden, and a radio control model airplane field. Benjamin Rush State Park was named after Benjamin Rush (1746 -1813), a civic leader in Philadelphia, physician, politician, writer, educator, the founder of Dickinson College, and a Founding Father of the United States.

The Parks stretches from Montgomery County, PA to the Juniata Park/ Feltonville neighborhood in North Philadelphia. The creek is a tributary of the Delaware River. Once the creek reaches Juniata Park, the Tacony Creek joins buried tributaries to form the Frankford Creek. Tacony Creek Park, a portion of the Tacony/Frankford watershed, was purchased by the City of Philadelphia in 1915.
Hunting Park

Hunting Park is a large city park located in Hunting Park, Philadelphia. There is a recreation center located in the center of the park. There is a pool, a soccer court, a track, ten tennis courts, eleven basketball courts, two sports fields and four ball fields. The park land was originally a part of James Logan’s (1674-1751) Stenton estate.

Franklin Square is one of the five original open-space parks planned by William Penn when he laid out the city of Philadelphia in 1682. The park is named after Benjamin Franklin. Today, the park serves as a friendly attraction. There is a miniature golf course, carousel, water fountain, and picnic area in the park.

The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education is a 400 acre environmental center located in the Andorra section of Roxborough (Northwest Philadelphia). The education center was founded in 1965 as one of the first environmental education centers in the country. Today, the Schuylkill Center continues to offer environmental programs to people of all ages. On the 400 acres of land, there are woods, ponds, a nursery preschool, and a wildlife clinic.
